Upper Deck Announces its Crowd-Pleasing Lineup
of Football Giveaways at Super Bowl XLII Festivities
Company’s interactive booth at ‘NFL Experience’ will be flood of activity!
Carlsbad, CA (January 23, 2008) – The long-awaited matchup for Super Bowl XLII is set. On Sunday, Feb. 3, the undefeated AFC Champion New England Patriots will square off against the surprise NFC Champion New York Giants at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. And the action at this year’s NFL Experience interactive theme park and football card show surrounding the big game will be just as intense as the Upper Deck Company is ready to fan the fires of rabid football collectors everywhere with its outstanding lineup of booth giveaways and prizes.
During each day of the show – on January 26 and 27, and again from Jan. 30 through Feb. 3 – Upper Deck will be a major presence at the 17th Annual NFL Experience. To get things rolling, the industry leader will be giving away single trading cards from its 2007 NFL Artifacts, First Edition SPx Football launches from earlier this season. Karabiner key chains, NFL All-Star Vinyl™ Figure postcards and Upper Deck Store catalogs showcasing the company’s vast array of NFL products (signed and unsigned) will also be handed out free of charge.
As one of the league’s only football card manufacturers, Upper Deck will also be conducting its popular foil pack wrapper redemption program during the course of the show. Fans that purchase three packs of any 2007 Upper Deck football products with an SRP of $2.99 or more per pack can exchange their three foil packs for one of four exclusive Upper Deck NFL Experience trading cards spotlighting key players from the hometown Cardinals: Larry Fitzgerald, Edgerrin James, Adrian Wilson and Matt Leinart. Collectors should bring their unopened foil packs to the booth, open them and keep their cards and get a show exclusive in the process. Upper Deck only wants the foil pack. In addition, Upper Deck will be conducting a second, rarer level of wrapper redemptions highlighting six NFL “Record Breakers” (each one is limited to 700) from this past season including: Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson, Tony Gonzalez, Brett Favre, Randy Moss and Devon Hester. The same rules apply with this second level, so time is of the essence.
To get football fans in the competitive spirit, Upper Deck will also have its personalized trading cards station up and running where armchair quarterbacks young and old can get their very own personalized NFL Experience trading cards produced from Upper Deck. This popular function will also be free of charge to show attendees who will only need to wait a few minutes before walking away with their very own football card.
And in an effort to create awareness of its burgeoning All-Star Vinyl™ Figures line of NFL stars, Upper Deck will hold silent raffles and award one lucky winner per day with a previously launched NFL player: Brian Urlacher (Jan. 26); Ben Roethlisberger (Jan. 27); Peyton Manning (Jan. 30); Tom Brady (Jan. 31); Brett Favre (Feb. 1) and LaDainian Tomlinson (Feb. 2). Attendees simply need to fill out a quick questionnaire to be entered into the raffle. The All-Star Vinyl figures stand approximately 12” tall and retail for $74.99 each.
And lastly, for the first time ever, Upper Deck will have a new company mascott on hand: “Coach Cardman” will be making his industry debut at the 2008 NFL Experience! Kids are encouraged to find Coach Cardman and get free cards and Upper Deck giveaways. He’s sure to be an instant crowd favorite.
