New Autograph “Number Marks” Cards Debut in 2007/2008 SP Game-Used Hockey

More hot boxes added to fall 1:3 boxes, loaded with rookie or low numbered autograph & memorabilia cards

Carlsbad, CA – (February 11, 2008) – On the heels of one of the most exciting NHL All-Star games in recent history, Upper Deck launched its 2007/2008 SP Game-Used Hockey release designed to keep collectors seeing stars with the inclusion of autographed “Number Marks” cards. The content has been increased to the point where now every third box will be filled with additional rookies or low-numbered items. The product, which released last week, has already been deemed a hit by card collectors.

One of the more exciting editions to this year’s set is the inclusion of autographed “Number Marks” cards. In previous years, collectors have put together “Letter Marks” sets, which spell out the last name of the player. This year the “Letter Marks” set returns with superstars like Cam Neely, Gerry Cheevers, Gordie Howe, Vincent Lecavalier and Wayne Gretzky. Collectors should have an easier time putting together the new “Number Marks” cards however, where they only need to find two cards to complete that player set. Some of the players they can look for include Alexander Ovechkin, Bobby Hull, Bobby Orr, Martin Brodeur, Ilya Kovalchuk, Ray Bourque and Sidney Crosby.

Each three-card pack will include a memorabilia or autograph card. Each box will include an autograph or memorabilia card numbered to 100 or less and two rookie cards.  With the hot boxes however, the content gets even more exciting. In every third box, collectors will find either a rookie hot box that will yield six rookie cards instead of two or they will find a low numbered hot box where every autograph and memorabilia card is numbered to 100 or less.

The high end hockey collector will find it hard to stop opening 2007/2008 SP Game-Used Hockey. They can find single jersey cards, double jersey cards, triple jersey cards, all the way up to cards that have eight jersey swatches from different NHL stars. On top of that, there are also rare patch versions of these cards.  Additionally, the “By The Letter” game-used patch cards return with actual letters from a game-used jersey embedded in the cards. There are over fifty different players to find in this set including Evgeni Malkin, Henrik Zetterberg, Joe Sakic, Mario Lemieux, Mark Messier, Patrick Roy and Mats Sundin.
