Upper Deck Celebrates Amazing NHL Season at Spring Expo in Toronto Next Weekend
The NHL’s Sole Trading Card Licensee Unveils Priority Signing Checklist
Carlsbad, CA (April 25, 2008) – Upper Deck and hobby retailers in the U.S. and Canada have enjoyed a tremendous season of hockey card sales and now it’s time to give back to collectors at the NHL Spring Expo in Toronto (May 2 through May 4). The NHL Spring Expo brings in thousands of die-hard hockey collectors from all over North America, but also from as far away as Europe and Asia. And Upper Deck has gone all out to thank collectors for another great year of sales.
The company will have new trading card and collectible products on display at its booth, as well as several interactive elements. A daily raffle is planned at the UD Booth to award one lucky collector with an NHL All-Star Vinyl collectible figurine. (Winners must be present to collect their prize.) The company also has plans for a variety of giveaways during the course of each day consisting of Upper Deck NHL trading cards, assorted die-cast vehicles and more.
The most exciting element is the semi-annual wrapper redemption program where collectors who open a box of the 2007-08 NHL Fleer Hot Prospects or 2007-08 NHL UD ICE at the Upper Deck booth will receive a random NHL “Priority Signings” autograph card. Upper Deck has pulled out some of the biggest names in hockey to help make this one of the most exciting sets in show history. Each card is sequentially numbered and limited to varied amounts. This promotion is limited to one card per person per day and will only be available while supplies last.

“It’s always exciting to have this show in the midst of the hockey playoffs,” said Karvin Cheung, Upper Deck’s Hockey product manager. “It’s also exciting for us to get a chance to spend time with collectors who are so passionate about the sport and our collectibles.
“As we get near the close of yet another exciting hockey season, we want our collectors to know how much we appreciate their business and the ‘Priority Signings’ autograph cards are a great way for us to give something back.”
